Find Lost Animals

At RSPCA Qld, we reunite hundreds of lost animals with their owners each year. Sadly, many more animals are never reunited and it becomes our job to find them new homes.

We understand the grief and anxiety that comes with losing a beloved family pet. That's why our dedicated Lost & Found team formed almost 20 years ago, with a few animals reported daily. Today, we receive an average of 90 calls per day specifically about lost or found animals. We have a dedicated website, Facebook Page actively looking to reunite lost Pets around Queensland.

Our Lost and Found service, designed to help reunite animals with their owners, has two different levels: Daily Searching Service.

If you have lost your pet:

Notify neighbours that your pet is missing and consider making a "lost" flyer with a good description and current contact details – do a letterbox drop or add it to your local noticeboard.
Search your home and yard thoroughly including any spaces you think your pet may not be able to fit through. Cats often climb up trees or hide in storm water drains so try searching there.
Walk around your neighbourhood calling your pets name or making a familiar noise (shaking a food box etc).
Make sure you check recently visited places like the dog park.
Remember to keep searching. Many missing pets have been located weeks or months after they have gone missing.
